Watched the first episode of Extant last night, When I first saw a few adverts for it I actually thought it was for a film coming out, never realised it was a series.. that's what happens when I glance up at the TV when I have my headphones on..

Basically the story revolves around Molly ( Halle Berry ) who has been on a 13 month space mission alone and finds that after returning to earth she is pregnant somehow, on top of that she has to try and adjust to her family life back home after being away for so long. Lot's of dodgy goings on in the background might keep this interesting so will stick with it a while and see what happens..

Potential Spoiler for Episode 1

I checked the pilot as well and was thinking of creating a thread for it. It got me interested, it looks well made and the cliched parts can be overlooked for the sake of the decent aspects. I will definitely check the second episode and then most probably add it to the series that I am currently warching :)

It's very interesting I must admit, seen the second episode now and well worth keeping up with I think.. as you say the many decent aspects outweigh the minor ones..  and they are minor ones so I am not going to crib about those..

Just watched the pilot of The Lottery, a new sci-fi series with a premise of the near future where women stopped conceiving children, and humanity is on the brink of extinction. After years of experimentation, a fertility lab finally manages to create 100 embryos, gets taken over by a military agency, and the president announces that a sort of national lottery will be held to find surrogate mothers. Reminds me of Children of Men and Atwood's Handmaid's Tale, and I did enjoy the first episode quite a lot.

Fargo is brilliant. World class acting from Martin Freeman. To my surprise they've picked it up for a 2nd season, always thought it was only for one season.

Been watching it since it released. It's a little over-the-top at times but the drama has gotten better.

Started watching Hannibal recently. Already on Season 2 and like it a lot as far as the story line.

My only complaint is the soundtrack/background music or whatever you call it is absolutely terrible to my ears. Completely grating and annoying. I know they probably intended to have this "off-putting" effect to add to the mood of the show, but for me it goes beyond that into the simply annoying and nearly unbearable (like nails on a chalkboard). And the sound gets so loud compared with the rest of the audio that basically have to watch with TV converter in hand to raise and lower the volume regularly.

Actually started watching the X files series again. Not seen it for like 10 years bar the odd episode here and there. Absolutely quality show, hard to believe it first started in 93.

Just finished watching this, IMDB calls it a drama/crime, I'd describe it as a dark comedy, excellent acting and story though.

Not sure if your into Trailer Park Boys? the new movie 'Trailer Park Boys 3 Don't Legalize It' has just been released on download.

Just about finished the most recent series of It's Always Sunny. Not quite sure what I'm going to do with myself when it's done. The only thing left for me is to catch up on The Walking Dead, as I've not seen it from episode eight of the most recent series. Asides from that, there's only really the current series of Suits left for me. I'm going to feel pretty empty soon enough.

Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant are class.

Arrow- Really am enjoying it and I'm at the stage where I have to watch 3 episodes an evening just to catch up as I'm on Season 1. I love the flashbacks on the island as well.

Have also been re-watching X-Files recently. Can't help but chuckle at a lot of it. I was really into it when I was 8 or so years old and it first started on the air. Then eventually stopped watching it over the years and never actually watched the final seasons. Going back to the first season it's so much cheesier than I remember as a kid! Also never realised Seth Greene had made an appearance until now.

Have been watching a lot of Skins too.

Finished the first season of Brooklyn Nine Nine, don't usually like those types of shows but thought it was absolutely hilarious. Can't wait for the second season to start!

Looking for a decent new series to start now.
