UEFA should really award a third automatic qualification spot for La Liga clubs in the Europa League. Valencia, Mallorca, Valladolid, etc. would only improve with the exposure and having more high calibre opponents regularly (no offense to Deportivo or Betis. or Getafe for that matter). plus, the last decade of performances have shown that the league can handle it. anyway, with the numbers continuing to be strong from Spain, by 2030 it should be locked up. sorry Italy :P

Falcaos really giving a go. I can see him ending the league with 30+ goals if he keeps this up.

with how he steps it up in big matches, we can hope that during a few rivalry matches he pushes for 35+ :whistling:

Wow, I am surprised at Fabregas leading in the assists table! Good news for him and Barca, I was still under the impression that he's not that great and optimally useful yet, but this stat proves me wrong. However, I have only seen about 2-3 games of Barca in La Liga this season.

Fuck off

Thanks to you quoting him his links are still visible...

He started the season poorly, but lately has been one of the best performers. He's doing very well now and has held himself down a first team spot.

Great signs from him recently. He's reminding me more of the Arsenal/first half of the season for Barcelona last season Cesc.

Fabregas is an impressing assists machine. Good player!

i wonder if it has anything to do with the fact there's 'ass' leading the word... :whistling:

Wow Messi has already scored 21 goals with only 1 of them being a penalty. Compare that to the 2nd and 3rd top scorers who have 13 and 11 respectively but

have scored 4 and 5 pens each and I wouldn't even say Messi was at his ultimate best quite yet. He could definitely do better. Away from home he's been brilliant(already close to breaking the record of most away goals in a season), but at camp nou he could do more for me, when you compare this season to the past ones at home.

If not including pens:-

Messi 20

C.Ronaldo 9

Ruben Castro 8

Hemed 7

Aduriz 7

Higuain 7

Oscar 7

Soldado 6

Falcao 6

Baptistao 6

Riki 6

Postiga 6

As for the names of players with assists, shouldn't it be something like Barcelistalona since the 4 of the top 5 assisters are Cesc, Messi, Iniesta and Pedro? ;)

By the way I've been very impressed by Oscar this season for Valladolid, he is basically carrying them and also Iago Aspas for Celta is like a new Michu in the league, i.e not really known of and playing in the second division then coming up to the first division and shining. Some of these players coming from the the segunda división are mustard.

Falcao doing well as well. Reports in the Spanish media are saying that Atletico are trying to get him to sign a new contract worth more money, they would do well if they did that. They would cope if they did sell him I think, however if they could keep him that would certainly be better.

Only 1 pen as well, while the 2nd and 3rd top scorers have had 6 and 4 pens respectively.

Messi is a playstation player.

Bilbao only 6 points from relegation, could they get sucked in?

They shouldn't, there are worse teams. Looks like Bielsa doesn't fit at all in Bilbao, really poor results.

Still can't believe Postiga managed to have the career he has had considering his absolutely horrendous spell with us.

Guess he moved far too soon and just didn't suit the premier league. Nice to see him still scoring goals though.

Sorry Atleti wasn't able to hop into 2nd today, but oh well. They've still got a Madrid derby at the Calderon, and there are always cycles in football. So after like 14 years without beating Madrid, they may just fancy a win in that derby.

39 goals(not including pens) for Messi this season. That's more than both Ronaldo and Falcao put together if we don't include pens . He makes la liga look like a joke.

I'm not really a big fan of him myself but for a club like Zaragoza he's a good option. Out of his 10 goals this season, none have been pens, so I suppose that's a good return. If he'd taken a few pens as well then he'd have most likely scored more and if he keeps scoring the odd goal, it could prove to be the difference in whether Zaragoza go up or down.

This league is honestly getting boring to a point where many won't even be arsed. So repetitive.

To be fair the prem is no better. United win it nearly every year. If not them than a shithouse foreign owned club with no identity. The same 4 are in the champs league year in year out(just replace City with Liverpool), zero good young English talents in the league, relagation battle that was over before the end of the season, etc.

Sociedad are a credit. Gotten to the champs league due to their own work, youth set up and scouting systems, atlectico are winning shit without the need of a Russian or arab sugar daddy, great relegation battle, loads of talent standing out. There has certainly been poaitives as well.

When was the last time Barca and Madrid were not in the top two? 2007?

Prem is overrated
