I'm in a weird spot, guys.

I wanted to take my next job in Germany or New Orleans, USA (I have friends and I love it there).  Here's the catch, guys - my good friend (one of my best college friends) may have a job in Maryland (NEAR me, too).  So I'm not sure whether to go on a 2-3+ year adventure or stay around good friends from university.

The adventure is something I need - but being able to chill with good mates is something you never want to miss out on.

If they're good friends, they'll still be there when you get back. An adventure abroad can be a valuable experience for life. I had the opportunity to go to France for a year a few years back, and I was too much of a coward to take it. I deeply regret it. But hey, you must do what you think is right :)

Yeah, but I won't really know anyone in Germany.  My mother used to have connections, but those have faded over time.

I'd be living near Kaiserslautern in the Rhineland-Palatinate region of Germany.  That is not an area that my family is familiar with, unfortunately (my parents are more familiar with Berlin and the surrounding areas).  If I were to get a job there it would be venturing into territory that is unknown to my family and I.

I'd go for the adventure as well. Who cares if you don't have any connections? You'll meet new people, make new friends and learn to find your way around, personally I wouldn't let the opportunity slip away.

Steve Irwin was a douche. Not as widely liked as the media would have you believe.

That guy doesn't have a TV show though, Irwin did.

Anyone watched Schlag den Raab tonight? A woman almost managed to beat him, and she would have been the first woman ever. So close.

Yep, she didn't win many rounds, but the ones she won were some of the quite important ones. But she wasn't cocky enough - in this show you must be cocky and cheeky to match Raab on the mental level.

True. But she lost some early games where it was quite close already. Like the game with the locks, where Raab was "lucky" to get the first two keys right away. Ah well, good show.

I enjoyed Kiesza's performance as well. Better than Maroon 5 for sure :P

Yep, most rounds were close.

Kiesza was the best performer on this show I've seen in quite a while.

So Netflix started in Germany now, anyone trying it? I registered to get the first trial month, and it looks good. Their very own TV Shows like "Orange is the New Black" and "House of Cards" are available for example. Quite a limited choice of movies so far though. The best thing is that every show and movie comes with an original language option as well, something other streaming services here lack (the reason why I wasn't interested so far).

I am going to check it, but I was slightly annoyed by their website, since one had to sign in in order to even check the prices or the content. I am waiting for a time when I have slightly more time on my hands in order to try them out. Somewhere I read that in Germany the HD option is not expensive (only 1euro more a month) compared to what cable and co. asks for HD. And of course the original audio option is great as it should be standard, but it's not over here....

Yup, non-HD is 7.99 € per month, and HD (+ the option to use other devices) is 8.99 €.

Yup, you can choose all options as trial. You need to give them your paypal or credit card info to register, but they'll only charge you if you don't cancel the subscription before the trial is over.
