Wednesday, 10th March
Bordeaux 1-2 Auxerre

Saturday, 13th March
Le Mans 0-1 Nice
Lorient 1-0 Lens
Monaco 0-0 Bordeaux
Montpellier 1-1 Auxerre
Nancy 1-3 Boulogne
Paris SG 4-1 Sochaux
Lyon 1-1 St Etienne

Sunday, 14th March
Lille 1-0 Grenoble
Valenciennes 0-2 Rennes
Toulouse 1-1 Marseille

This weekend could be an eventful one after last week's dramatic finish. The games last week themselves didn't have too many talking points with Lille, Lyon and Marseille all failing to capitalise on each other's mistakes. However, the true battle was right at the tip of the table with Montpellier grabbing a last minute equaliser in order to earn themselves a point against Bordeaux. Now, there is a lot to play for with only 4 points separating the top 6, despite Bordeaux holding two games in hand over their rivals at the top.

Match Choice - Lyon -vs- St Etienne
There is no love lost between these two sides. The Rhone-Alpes derby always has a terrific atmosphere and the going can get tough for both sides, especially in recent years. This time around, Lyon are looking to catch Bordeaux and Montpellier, who both currently sit just two points ahead of them in the table. Saint Etienne will be looking to win for other reasons. They are currently in a relegation battle, despite being 6 points clear of the drop. History tells them to be careful, as they were dragged right into a relegation mess last season, only managing to escape on the last day. They'll be looking to pull further clear of relegation. All in all, there are dragging rights at stake for these two neighbours so it will definitely be a fiery affair.

Bordeaux have LOST one of their games in hand. Tonight they lost 2-1 at home to Auxerre. This makes it a little tighter at the top considering that Montpellier are level on points with them at the moment and Lyon are only two points behind. It's getting interesting, just like last year!

A goalless draw tonight but Montpellier drew 1-1 so they failed to capitalise.

Currently Lyon behind to ASSE so OM could go top tomorrow IF I am not mistake should they win by three clear goals.

Auxerre as well made some ground, again though they were held.

You're mistaken. Bordeaux & Montpellier are currently tied on 53 points. Marseille are in 5th with 49 points at the moment behind Auxerre & Lyon. A win regardless of by how many will move them up to third with 52 points, provided that Lyon-St Etienne remains a draw as it is at present with only a few minutes remaining.

Auxerre/Montpellier finished 1-1, which was the ideal result for Bordeaux in the end as they look to utilise their game in hand to extend their lead at the top.

Another draw for Bordeaux and Montpellier which keeps it tight at the top. More interestingly, Auxerre seem to have crawled unexpectedly back into the fold. Remember that Auxerre led the league for a week earlier in the season. Lyon have slipped as a result but Marseille have the opportunity to move into third if they manage to beat Toulouse away from home today.

PSG managed to get a win in big fashion by beating Sochaux 4-1. Struggling Boulogne also picked apart Nancy in a 3-1 victory.

Marseilles winning at the moment as well, any particular reason Niang is on the bench?

It's 1-1 now at half time. Machado pulls level for Toulouse.

No particular reason for Niang being out of the starting lineup. He's been on fire lately, but I think Deschamps just saw this as an opportunity to rotate the attacking section of the team to keep them fresh. That's why I think Ben Arfa and Valbuena have been handed starts. Brandao's shown he merits the start by scoring the opening goal in the game.

Colin Kazim-Richards starting for Toulouse as well, remember him?

Marseille finish off the week by drawing 1-1 with Toulouse. That means that all the current and realistic title contenders have drawn their games. Is this the title no-one wants to win this year?!
