Theres much better players in the EPL than Rooney, Henry, Lampard, Robben, Terry, Cech and the list goes on.

Yes he is, thier manager wants to put him in the squad. Thier manager says his better than some of thier regulars. The only problem is that Barcalona have 3 other Non-European players and Spain won't allow him citezenship and his been in Spain for longer then 5 years.

1) Are those players you said rooney's age? I mean yes, they are better now.. but look how young rooney is.. They were not near his quality and his populrity and success level when they were his age. So if you took it unpractically, than rooney is the best, due to how well he is doing at this age. He is definately the best youngster since owen, and I believe Rooney is much better than Owen was.

2)And Rooney has the English first XI. So each play in one of the two biggest marketed, supported and big name nations in the world.

3)I agree, Messi would make the squad take away the citizenship issues he is having right now. He does play a lot in european competition and does better than the starters, except ronaldinho, deco, eto'o on the attack.

There isnt many players better then Wayne Rooney in the world at what he does.... You can say all the Lampard, Robben, Terry, Cech are better then him... is that because they're successful?

You can't even compare Terry or Cech to Rooney 1 bit, You've got to compare him to player's who play in his position as a forward who supply's the striker with chances and has some himself, Just like Del Piero only much better.
