According to German media, Bayer Leverkusen are also in the hunt for this guy. So I guess the young man is going to have to choose between the German leaders and the Spuds.

Lyon were first to offer something for him. They put in an offer of around €8m last week which was turned down. Clubs have been tracking him for a while though, so it remains to be seen where he'll end up.

Reports in Croatia suggest Chelsea have entered the race for highly-rated defender Dejan Lovren. The 20-year-old, who is currently on the books of Dinamo Zagreb, is regarded as one of the hottest properties in his homeland.
French giants Lyon have already made a move for his services, but have seen an official approach knocked back. Dinamo insist they have no plans to part with Lovren, but vice-president Zdravko Mamic has admitted that stance could change were they to receive a suitable bid.
"Lyon made an offer which we didn't accept," he said. "That is the end of the story. Many will say I'm totally mad because I didn't accept an offer from France, but the point is we are in no hurry. Our financial situation is quite good and we don't need to accept just every offer that comes along.
"We want to build a strong team for the future, we want to be better and better. And we are not offering anybody to nobody. Not Lovren, not (Mario) Mandzukic who is constantly linked with Werder Bremen. We will only sell in case of an offer which would be impossible to refuse."
Speculation suggests that Dinamo could be tempted into a sale if they receive an offer of €10million (£9m).

The race for this one is certainly hotting up with Lyon's bid being turned down and Chelsea joining the bidding it seems!

He's signed for Lyon. Done & dusted after a week of haggling between the two clubs  . This is another promising young player for Lyon fans to get excited about, joining the current crop of decent talent in the ranks at the moment. It'll be interesting to see where he fits in for the present. Lyon lack depth at the back and Boumsong's place in the starting XI could be under threat with this one. I can see Lovren going right into the starting XI as a result.
He's been given the number 26 shirt.
