It's looking pretty close up there now with teams dropping points and others capitalising on it. Valencia and Sevilla still look like the obvious favourites. But I wouldn't rule Deportivo or Mallorca out. Mallorca seem to know how to get the right results this season and are a team I've enjoyed to watch and look out for. I hope they can somehow grab 4th spot. But on the other hand, Sevilla and Valencia would be the best 2 teams going into the Champions league next season. Mallorca probably wouldn't last too long in the competition, wereas Sevila and Valencia have the quality in their rosters to go pretty far.

Mallorca look pretty organised tonight against Barcelona and their result last weekend against Atletico, 4-1, was impressive. The goal from Filipe Mattoni, was quality. A superb volley from outside of the box, it reminded me of a Tugay special. I'd love to see them get a Champions league spot. The only problem is they are in financial trouble and will be losing their manager and some of their stars next season, by the looks of it. Which is a shame, as just as the club seem to be moving forward, they will most likely have to take a step back again.

It's interesting at this end of the table now. Villareal aren't too far away and I think a Europa league will be theres. If Sevilla continue their poor run and Mallorca don't capitalise, then Villareal even have a chance of finishing 4th. Which would have sounded more or less impossible after the start they had. A decent run of results(barring the 3-0 loss last night) has kept them well in contention.

Think it will be Valencia and Mallorca. Sevilla maybe can do wonders and snatch 4th but it will be hard with their current form and Mallorca are in great form this season.

As it stands Valencia have secured CL football next season with a solid 3rd place.
Mallorca 4th - 59 points
Sevilla 5th - 57 points
Mallorca v RM 2-1
Deportivo v Mallorca 3-1
Mallorca v Espanyol 2-0
Racing v Sevilla 0-2
Sevilla v FC Barcelona 2-2 or 2-3
Almeria v Sevilla 1-2
That would leave Mallorca with 4th spot. With a point or 2 of a lead. I would like to Mallorca next season in the CL, they deserve it and have been solid at home and it would certainly help their finances but i can't seem them progressing past the group stages, at least not with the team they have now, and i very much doubt they will be able to afford players to make the difference. Think the last time i saw them in European football was about 10 years ago. Manzano's been around yoyoing in and out of clubs since he came to RCDM and looks settled at the club wonder if he is capable of doing it all again next season.
In a way Sevilla would be able to add more to the CL for Spanish football. Unlucky, to have been knocked out of the CL by CSKA (even though they would have encountered Mourinho's Inter had they progressed), have had European success back to back in the old UEFA cup and are more than capable of causing a few suprises. All in all i would prefer to see Sevilla grap that fourth spot, as they have less impeding factors going against them with a favourable group draw i can see them making another QF finish in Europe.

Valencia have secured 3rd as you mentioned Markuss and the fight for 4th is still on out of Sevilla and Mallorca, which will go all the way till week 38. If Sevilla win, they have secured 4th, but if they fail to win and Mallorca win, then the Islanders will be the ones in the champions league next season.

So this is how it ends
3. Valencia CF
4. Sevilla FC
----------------
5. RCD Mallorca
6. Getafe
With Villareal and Bilbao just missing out. It's been a good season for Getafe and Mallorca, especially. I'm not sure how they will do in the Europa league next season, but Atletico will also be in the mix after winning the Europa league.
With Atletico winning the Europa league and both Copa Del Rey finalists, Sevilla and Atletico Madrid already being in Europe this season, doe that mean an extra spot will be given to 7th place? If so then Villareal will also be in the Europa league next season.

Only if Sevilla win, Villareal will get Europa league football next season.
