Has has been said I don't think it will be easy for Southampton to make the Play Offs, but they are'nt too far behind really!
Just imagine if they had'nt had 10 points deducted though!! (still I think they need another Season in Leauge 1 ... otherwise they'd never survive in the Championship if they where to go straight back up I feel)

They beat Leeds today, but they are 16 points off the playoffs with 12 games to play, they're going to have to win at least 10 of those 12 I'd imagine, so virtually an impossible task.
Yeah, I saw the table after yesterday's game and they are a lot further off the play-offs in terms of points than I thought. Their in a huge gap of points within just a few places in the league so the teams above them would have to really, really mess up! They are looking good for next season though, the main thing was to get safe this season but they've done even better. The two they have up front will score goals for fun next season.

Brighton (a) 13th
Leyton Orient (h) 16th
Charlton (h) 5th
Bristol Rovers (a) 8th
Yeovil (a) 15th
Oldham (h) 19th
Carlisle (h) 11th
Gillingham (a) 17th
Southend (h) 22nd
Nice-ish little run in, only to face three sides from the top half of the table and five home games. Two of those games against sides from the top half are at home, that will certainly help. Still is a tough ask though, to make up 12 points with only nine games to go - even with a game in hand. Only one game against sides in the bottom four, five of their games are against sides above the bottom four but below halfway (13th-20th)

They need to score seven points just to be level with what Huddersfield have now. They do have a good GD, but I'd say three wins out of three would only give them some hope of a play-off place as Huddersfield are the only team they can catch and they have two sides in the bottom five away from home to try and secure the three points that would end Southampton's hopes.
Just needed to be a lot more consistent. At home they have won 13 games but failed to win eight. Away from home they've only won eight but drawn NINE games which is where they've dropped too many points - 18 out of 66 is too many (27.27%) Their overall 14 draws is a dropped 28 points, had they drawn just five less or picked up some points elsewhere then they'd be in the hunt for second let alone a play-off. The team they can only just not catch (Charlton) are in contention for automatic promotion
