Barcelona are reportedly unconcerned that Manchester United and Arsenal have been keeping tabs on Giovanni Dos Santos.

The Mexican youngster has been one of the stars of the World Under-17 Championships in Peru and his performances have alerted the Premiership giants to his abilities.

Dos Santos's agent has confirmed the interest from Old Trafford and Highbury but Mexican sides America and Monterrey are also said to be keen on landing the talented teenager.

The Mexican captain may lack strength and is only 16 years old but he is being tipped for a massive future in the game, with some pundits dubbing him 'The new Ronaldinho'.

Dos Santos, who is the son of Brazilian ace Zizinho, is currently with the Barcelona B squad. His father played in Mexico for America, and impressively in the indoor league, during his professional career and that is why he represents Le Tricolores.

Barca, who lost Cesc Fabregas to Arsenal and Gerard Pique to Manchester United before they had appeared for the first team, are confident they will retain Dos Santos as he is under contract for the next four years.

"He is an explosive player and has great attacking vision," said Mexico coach Jesus Ramirez recently.

Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard will be hoping he can call upon the precocious youngster in the coming years.
