Looks like Bayern will win the league as they currently are getting back into rhythm it was only a matter of time.

It's funny how everyone starts praising Bayern once they manage to get a few good results and show a positive display. Bochum, Hannover and Hertha aren't strong opposition at any rate, and while Bayern played better, this is in no way an indication of them winning the league. They'll need more than that, and we'll see how they do against some proper teams after the break.

a question to Bayern fans, mostly to archetype, as you've been the one I see here in the forums - where do you see Bayern in the end of this season? Do you think you have what it takes to win?

One thing for sure & certain... I HOPE FORTUNE & LUCK STILL WITH BAYERN TILL THE END like in Juve - Bayern 2009 match in Turin !

Yes I am very agree with u !
I never bother AT ALL when Bayern beat Berlin even to 20 - 0 as long as Bayern still can't win ANY EUROPEAN CUP till now !

Look ! Bayern can now beat Juve to 4 - 1 in their turf... nah for me, its just A PURE LUCK as long as Bayern still failed to go to final... what the use of beating Juve to pulp if in the end, u are just a lesser loser too ???
Bayern need to WIN THE CUP not to beat team to pulp... they already can do that in BL but to win a PRESTIGIOUS CUP ? nope, Bayern need to do that in Europe !

Franck Ribery keeps on struggling with fitness problems. The Bayern Munchen midfielder has been haunted by several injuries this season and keeps on struggling with physical complaints in the new year. Ribery had to pull out of Monday's training with a toe injury. The injury prone Frenchman, who has been subject of many transfer rumours lately, took part in Sunday's training session but bruised his both big toes, ruling him out for Today's training. The 26-year-old France international worked out in the stadium fitness centre instead under the supervision of sports rehab coach Thomas Wilhelmi. It's not sure how long Ribery will remain sidelined.

from here

I'm speechless. These injuries look more and more fake :what:
Now when Bayern announced they're going to reduce the squad wages, he'll surely be gone, no?

not because of a bruised toe :P ...and I remember Van Gaal saying Ribery was going to play at least 20 minutes against Berlin. He must be pretty close to being fit if that's the case even though he didn't end up playing because of the weather conditions. I appreciate that fact that the Bayern training staff is taking their time and not rushing things with Ribery. As long as he's ready when the CL knockout stage starts, I'm completely happy with him being sidelined, being as hard as it is. For now, Pranjic will suffice. We've still got Schweini and Robben.

now he's even talking about the possibility of a new contract with Bayern  that man is totally crazy and doesn't know what he wants, for sure.

EDIT: and the saga continues - now his agent claims that Ribéry will not renew his contract. If i were a Bayern supporter (god forbid), I'd pay just to get rid of him.

so, we're seeing what Van Gaal is all about... Bayern are finding themselves, they're passing like maniacs, and the wings seem just perfect... they're my biggest favorites for the Bundesliga this season, they might just nick the CL trophy aswell.

so, congrats Josh http://www.totalfootballforums.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/congrats.gifhttp://www.totalfootballforums.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif

Hildebrand was not missing, he played all 90minutes.
Anyways:

Luis Gustavo - suspended, that's 1
Vorsah and Obasi - at the African Cup of Nations, that's 3
Weis, 4
Jaissle, 5
Prince Tagoe (well, he's not important anyways) 6
Carlos Eduardo, 7.

They had nobody to play in mitfield  Salihovic played in center midfield, but on the left and right there was Vukcevic (later substituted by reserve squad player Ludwig) and Zuculini (who hasn't played more than 5 games before, and was later substituted by defender). The problems in midfield were more than clear, passes were terrible and they lost loads of balls, no playmaker whatsoever.
No wonder Bayern won, as they were better, yet they were far from amazing, and even against a weakened Hoffenheim team, they rode their luck till that second goal by Klose. Normally, they should have killed it way before that.

Well, thanks for being optimistic, but Bayern didn't play particularly well. And as nudge mentioned, they were missing key players. I thought our possession was good, but as the komentator mentioned, we were missing that final pass as we couldn't really set up as many scoring chances in the first half. The second half was much better and after the second goal it was all Bayern as Hoffenheim was clearly spent out of energy and crushed after Kloses brilliant strike. About Kloses strike; it was good to see a striker with a good first touch since Gomez seems to be screwing up a lot of scoring chances, especially in the 90th minute when he hit the woodwork. Great goal for Demichelis though. I can't believe that was his first goal of the season, but then again Van Buyten is perfect for corners as he's freakishly tall for a footballer so he seems to do the majority of the scoring of our defensmen. I wonder how many goals Lahm has scored because I can't even recall one. Yikes. I will certainly take this win. Bayern are still undefeated at home, unlike last years awful home stand, and that's progress.

Cheers!!

Bayern are not playing at their best for sure, they can do a lot better. Then once again, I think Gomez is highly overrated, and I don't understand all the hype about him. He has to improve his finishing in order to be considered a good player, and I'm not even talking about his role in the national team, he's not ready for that yet. Personally I rate Olic a lot higher, as he's a hard worker and has more quality than Gomez. Naturally, Bayern are the favourites every year, as they arguably have the best squad around, but the player need to gel.
Also, seems like they still have some problems in internal relationships. Lahm and Robben had a bust-up in training today, that's just one example. Van Gaal will have to work on that, it's not easy to manage big egos anyway, I guess.
I can't wait for the weekend match against you in weserstadion, will be tough, and we're currently in kind of crisis, but I hope we can stop Bayern's successful run on Saturday!

Bayern Munich trio Daniel Van Buyten, Thomas Muller and Holger Badstuber have agreed new contract extensions with the Bundesliga outfit.

Belgian defender Van Buyten has penned a two-year extension while Muller and Badstuber will remain at the Allianz Arena until 2013 and 2014 respectively.

"We are delighted to have been able to agree contract extensions with each of these three players," said Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

"In the near future, we will also hold talks with the other players whose contracts are expiring at the end of the season to set the foundations for the future."

Central defender Daniel Van Buyten is unlikely to feature in the second leg of FC Bayern München's first knockout round tie against ACF Fiorentina after tearing a calf muscle in Wednesday's opener.

The Belgian international was replaced by Diego Contento at half-time, as Bayern went on to win the game 2-1. Head coach Louis van Gaal did not know for how long the 32-year-old would be out of action, but said: "He will definitely not be available against Nürnberg [this weekend] and might not be able to play Hamburger SV a week later."

The UEFA Champions League tie concludes in Florence on 9 March, with Holger Badstuber likely to move across into the central defence in the event that Van Buyten does not recover. Goalkeeper Hans-Jörg Butt said: "He has done so before in the first months of this season, so this is a good solution." Miroslav Klose added that losing Van Buyten was "a bitter blow".

Would be a big loss indeed; Contento was terrible and not up to Bayern's standard, and Demichelis is error-prone. If they move Badstuber to the central defence, who'll play as fullbacks? Lahm and Lell?

don't know if anyone uses this forum anymore. I went to match day but they didnt have one for todays game. I'd say it wasnt too shabby. I do wish Ruud would have been able to play. Damn injuries are hurting HSV. But would have been nice to see how he faired against Bayern.

Sadly, Ruud was poorly (again) today - something about a hip. The game was a typical cut and thrust for almost three quarters of the match, but with not much devil in the thrust bits. Both keepers had a quiet sort of first half and Rost was substituted at half time by a 'rookie' keeper for Hamburg who wasn't really tested. Ribery must have bee fed-up towards the end of the game and made a run through most of the Hamburg defence and let go with a superb peach of a shot that no goalie would have got near - (bit like the one my Ivan scored on Friday against Dortmund). End of game, Boateng doing his usual give away as many free kicks as he can - yellow carded once but could have been 3 times and they all went home with Bayern pocketing the points and going back to the top. Conclusion? Ruud might well have upset the Munchkins had he played - c'est la vie!
Stay in touch and if you really want to know how he gets on - just ask - there are many guys and gals in this area who will be happy to oblige!

Kroos' future is unclear yet. As Heynckes told, both Kroos and Bayer04 want him to stay in Leverkusen. It's unlikely, as Bayern want him badly, but I'm afraid if Robben and Ribery stay, he won't be getting enough playing time. Both Kroos and Müller are only 20 years old, and Bayern will need more than them to win CL for years to come.
