Paris St. Germain

My mum's side of the family is French and support Paris St. Germain. I used to be more into them in the nineties when my dad cared fuck all about football, so I don't pay much attention to French football outside the national team (Raymond Domenech is an idiot).

Not really. That's pretty bad on its own though, if you ask me.

Granted the golden generation is gone, especially after the 2006 World Cup where he "coaxed" some players out of international retirement (and it was still a distant memory a bit then, reaching the final was lucky), but he could be doing a much better job with the players he has to select.

I'm still surprised he kept his job after that emberrassing Euro 2008 tournament. Sure, France were in the "group of death" but played terribly in their three group matches. It didn't look too bad when we got a goal back against the Netherlands to make it 1-2, but Robben killed that just a minute later.

Now we've lost to Austria in the qualifiers for the World Cup; even if we do make it (though it might be as second in the group and having a playoff to get there), I can't imagine France having a very good showing in South Africa. That should write off Domenech for sure. I just don't see him getting sacked in the middle of a qualifying campaign though.

Toulouse fan here! Faded away near the end of last season but hopefully we'll be more consistant for the whole season!

Toulouse didn't do too badly overall last season. After finishing just above the relegation spots the season before last, finishing with a respectable Europa League spot was great for the club and the fans. Hopefully this year Gignac can fire in the goals to keep them up the table rather than down it.

I've added you to the Toulouse supporters list also :) .

I've also updated the list to introduce the new teams to Ligue 1. If anyone else out there is a Ligue 1 fan or has a slight interest in one of the clubs, let it be known in here and I'll add you to this list too!

Put me down for Bordeaux, been there 4 times and have loved it, I've always had a soft spot for them and look out for their results if I ever see Ligue 1 results :P

I'm not the biggest of fans, but if I'm able to follow French Football then I will. At the moment I only have SS1, no ESPN :(

It's not on ESPN in the UK either. They were outbid by Canal+ and Orange (the phone company and main sponsor) who wanted to buy the worldwide rights though some countries were already under contract (ie. Setanta Ireland).

Unless you buy a Canal+ box the only other method is on the internet.

Added you to the Bordeaux group :) .
