Has to be Roy Keane, he's even harder than Chuck Norris.

You're probably right.

My favourite pic of him

To whoever said Vinnie Jones, you've been watching too many movies.

How I wanted to put a sledgehammer to Duncan Ferguson's face.

He was the first man in football I hated.

Aged 9.

There's a difference between being hard and being a psycho/dirty bastard/general dickhead which some of you people don't seem to know the meaning of.

Duncan Ferguson somehow managed to be every single one of those so I'll say him.

Savage hahaha, he's not hard at all man, he's just a niggly little terrier who likes to snap at peoples' heels. He's not a hard man.

Essien is a perfect example of someone who is just a dirty little bastard who commits some sly atrocious fouls.

Materazzi embodies the kind of soft prick who likes to pick on people smaller than him, as soon as he came up against someone remotely hard he dived on the ground like a fairy.

Keane I wouldn't say was particularly hard. He was a psycho with a serial killer stare, but he wasn't particularly hard. Same with Cantona, mad as a mongoose but not solid. His craziness scared the shit out of people.

Alan Shearer was hard. He put himself about, never took any shit from anyone and when he got into a scuffle he stood his ground. Stuart Pearce was hard and mad as a hatter to boot.

I agree with everthing except Essien is made of granite mate, he is a powerfull hard player... when he hits players in a tackle....they feel it.

That list is hilarious because you've named most of the hardest men ever in football, then added Robbie Savage. Put them all together and Savage would be eaten alive.

Watch the Zidane headbutt again. Materazzi's chest compresses as he recieves the blow, it looks really painful.

Unpredictable people are scary. Cantona's like the wierd kid at school who you make a little joke at one day and he suddenly punches you in the face, having never done anything before.

Probably players from the earlier days of football... I'll say Tommy Smith, the Anfield Iron.

I don't think any players are hard now, just cunts really.
