Atlanta lost there first game after 3 matches, they got crushed 4-1 away to Catania. They lost their top spot but have one game in hand.

Bresica arn't doing that bad at 5th but should be doing better. It seems Serie B has really strengthend up this year. It's really close.

Week 6 - Reports

Albinoleffe 0-0 Modena

The points are shared in Bergamo and neither team will be particularly happy with the result. Tisci and Bucchi had the best chances for Modena, but Beretta saw red for the home side late on.

Sent off: Beretta 90 (A)

Avellino 1-1 Bari

The fans in the Stadio Partenio had to wait for over an hour before seeing their first shot on goal, then saw two in the closing stages. Bari took first blood with a fierce Bellavista strike from 20 metres, but in the last seconds of the match Danilevicius was left unmarked to earn Avellino a point.

Scorers: Bellavista 85 (B), Danilevicius 93 (A)

Bologna 2-1 Piacenza

Piacenza’s crisis continues, as Bologna emerge with the victory in this local derby. The Biancorossi had started well and taken the lead after just six minutes with Sardo nodding in a corner kick at the near post. Midfielder Christian Amoroso proved a key figure, as his shot was touched on by Bellucci to equalise, then he netted the winner himself with a fine volley.

Scorers: Sardo 6 (P), Bellucci 27 (B), Amoroso 81 (B)

Brescia 0-0 Arezzo

Brescia were surprisingly held at the Rigamonti despite Arezzo playing the entire second half with ten men. The visitors had the best early chances with Viviano performing a desperate save on Abbruscato’s header. Beati’s second bookable offence changed the face of the game, but Arezzo were still dangerous with Confalone and both teams remain locked together on eight points

Sent off: Beati 47 (A)

Catania 4-1 Atalanta

Atalanta’s 100 per cent record is halted in spectacular fashion, as Catania confirm their promotion credentials with a four-star hammering of their rivals in the Serie A race. Gionatha Spinesi was the star man with a hat-trick, converting an early penalty, netting a fearsome drive from distance and nodding in from close range. Atalanta had the chance to equalise on 23 minutes, but Saudati fired his penalty straight at Pantanelli. Terra’s header was mere consolation and Caserta’s looping effort sealed the damning scoreline.

Scorers: Spinesi pen 18, 45, 51 ©, Terra 54 (A), Caserta 93 ©

Missed penalty: Saudati 23 (A)

Catanzaro 1-0 Pescara

Catanzaro grabbed the points in this relegation battle that was certainly not short on incident. Pescara star Croce went off with an injury after just nine minutes and the home side was awarded a penalty when Pesaresi clattered into Rizzato. However, Tardioli managed to punch out Corona’s penalty, so the Catanzaro hitman has now missed two spot-kicks in as many games. Gonnella and Matteini saw red, leaving Pescara to end the game with just nine men on the field, and their misery was compounded when Pesaresi accidentally turned a Rizzato cross into his own net.

Scorers: Pesaresi og 80 ©

Sent off: Gonnella 61 (P), Matteini 90 (P)

Missed penalty: Corona 56 ©

Cremonese-Triestina

To be played on Wednesday.

Rimini-Verona

To be played on Wednesday.

Ternana 0-3 Cesena

Ternana fell to a shock home defeat at the hands of Cesena, who had not won in Serie B since January. Ferreira Pinto proved decisive, setting up Salvetti’s opener and Bernacci’s third, while Troise was at fault for a shirt tug that allowed Salvetti to convert a penalty. Ternana were unlucky to hit the woodwork with Fattori.

Scorers: Salvetti 19, pen 25 ©, Bernacci 59 ©

Torino 0-0 Crotone

Crotone continue to impress, holding Torino to a stalemate at the Stadio Delle Alpi. Turci required a fine save to keep out Guzman in the best scoring opportunity of the game.

Vicenza 0-1 Mantova

Few would have predicted that after five games Mantova would be on top of the Serie B table, just weeks after their promotion from the Third Division. Vicenza had started out well and rattled the crossbar with Schwoch, but Noselli made the most of a defensive error to turn in Lanzara’s assist on the stroke of half-time.

Scorers: Noselli 44 (M)

Mantova look a decent out-fit, Never heard of them like but they seem a good side.

Mantova are rocking Serie B, this would be their third promtion in a row! All the way from the Amateur leagues to playing with the big boys!

Loooks like Napoli will be in Serie B next year, their crusing Serie C, so are Genoa and Perugia

Starting to shape up abit, Atlanta is currently 4th with Torino in 3rd. Brescia are coming behind in 6th as Bologna are being...rather poor.

Mantova are the Winter Champions, they musty have a good manager cos i have to admit i'd never heard of them before. Nice to se Napoli and Gneoa easing to the top of their respective leagues as well, hopefully they will rteturn to Serie A as quickly as possible

I think Napoli will have it easy in Serie B next year also Genoa CFC. Hope Hellas will win the play-offs if they get in them

I want to see Napoli in Serie A once more, also Genoa hopefully won't end up in Serie A. What they did to try and get in there was disgusting.

but you know the visitors of Serie A will be more less than now the next year if Napoli and Genoa won't get promoted. Genoa have a great supporters potential, their stadium is nearly sold out all games

Maybe if they don't bribe the ref at half time...

Napoli...do they still have Maradona's son?
