Yep, R.O.B. with some time at Landstuhl.
I've got some respect for Aachen. I remember their recent Pokal victory at their home ground against Bayern very fondly. On Monday I'll be looking for all three points, however. These last two matches have me thinking here we go again. A victory on Monday and I'll calm down a bit.

Ah, Landshhhhtooooooool, been there many times. Anytime Bayern loses it makes for happy days.

Hey folks,

First time I've been on in over a month!!! :-( Think I've hit depression since we forgot how to win games, but back on again as spirits much higher after tonights fantabulous result!!! Really pleased for Sydney Sam as he's a guy who has what it takes to terrorise opposing right backs.

Drawing at home to Ahlen recently was embarrasing so there can be no let up back at the Betzenberg next week when Paderborn arrive. We have to get that points cushion back again.

Scout - we still hanging in there - I try to avoid being overly positive about my own team but I really think this will be the year we head back to the big league. (to stay!!!). Just need to find that consistency again and 3 points at home to Paderborn will certainly help, as well as keep the belief and confidence levels up.

Schalke - you must be a happy man. Magath was a real coup for Schalke and he also has a track record with big money signings. If he can just keep them in the top 3 at the end of the season, I'm sure Champions League money will be heading hiw way for a couple of signings.

Killie - long time no hear. Life at Killie tough at the mo - not a fan of that eejit Michael Johnson. Jefferies was God! However you still have Kyle and the mighty wee Craig Bryson, and adding Severin was a good move too. I'm fairly certain Falkirk or Hamilton (perhaps both) will finish below you so SPL status will be retained.

In 7 seven weeks I'm off to see FCK play at Fortuna Dusseldorf. Prefer home games obviously but since return flights to Dusseldorf are currently less than £35 I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity. Plus you can always count on Dusseldorf for a decent pub crawl. (still room on that flight Killie - its just a mate and me thats going so you're welcome to join us).

Come on the FCK!!!

Clyde, my little Lautern cupcake, welcome back.

Killie stopped by recently asking about you and we all sat around reminiscing about the good old days.

This IS our year, no doubt. Little bit of a setback in past weeks but we just took Aachen to school and with any luck we've got this runaway train to victory back on track. It's our destiny you know. Next year at this time Bayern fans will be in tears after we slap those Hollywood pups on the nose and bring back the memories of Otto. The off season will be key and grabbing up a few more crucial players a must. Our return to top flight will certainly open up the door for a higher quality footballer wanting to play at the sacred grounds on the Betze. Fritz (always in our hearts) is rising from the grave as we speak to take a reserved seat in the Westkurve.

LAUTERN FOREVER!

Whoo hoo! We are back. I had to work today but I'm watching interviews and highlights now. I'm a little concerned about next season in 1. Bundesliga if we make it. We have so many player that are loaned to our club and I'm not so sure about the financials. One thing I'm certain about is Kuntz and the spirit of ol' Fritz. Forza 1.FCK!!!!!

Lautern suffered a financial setback today. Kuntz confirmed that after audit of 2000-2003 period, the club must pay €2.3 mill for tax office now. The ghost of the past, huh? At any rate, this won't stop Lautern of getting back to Bundesliga, and they should be deal with it succesfully - I don't really have a clue about your current financial situation in general though?

Hope that doesn't effect our buying power to shore up the club in the break before next season.

You've always got such happy news about Lautern nudge. Thanks.

Good on Bremen with the win tonight.
On the surface 'Lautern seem to be all smoke and mirrors with all of the loan players and somewhat dodgy financials but anyone who follows 1.FCK knows to expect the unexpected. I know king Otto isn't around but how many teams can you name that come out of 2. Bundesliga into 1. Bundesliga swinging like Kaiserslautern?

Zero as we're the only ones to win top flight straight from promotion. Hoffenheim almost did it had it not been for Ibisevic going out on injury and screwing their season to hell.

Back in the driver's seat. :hh:

Lautern back to the top

1. FC Kaiserslautern 3-0 SC Paderborn 07

1. FC Kaiserslautern returned the summit of the 2. Bundesliga with a 3-0 over SC Paderborn. Elsewhere, Fortuna Düsseldorf defeated MSV Duisburg, and the points were shared between FSV Frankfurt and Alemannia Aachen.

A 3-0 win for 1. FC Kaiserslautern sent them back to the top of the 2. Bundesliga, a point ahead of FC St. Pauli, Marco Kurz's side defeating SC Paderborn 07 at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion.

Paderborn were resilient in the first half and made life difficult for 'Lautern, but their resistance was broken just two minutes into the second half; Erik Jendrisek, who had replaced the hard-working but luckless Srdjan Lakic at half-time, glanced home from Ivo Ilicevic's cross to put the home side ahead, Jendrisek's seventh goal of the season.

Late goals from Jendrisek on 86 minutes and Hornig on 90 minutes followed afterwards, as Kaiserslautern ran out comfortable winners.

Kaiserslautern return to the top, but Paderborn are now in ninth, ten points away from the promotion playoff position.

1. FC Kaiserslautern: Sippel- Dick, Amedick, Rodnei, Bugera, Ilicevic (Steinhöfer 85'), Bilek, Mandjeck, Sam (Hornig 88'), Nemec, Lakic (Jendrisek 46')
SC Paderborn 07: Jensen- Strohdiek (Krause 88'), Mohr, Schachten, Guie-Mien, Krösche, Alushi (Brandy 79'), Brückner, Saglik (Löning 85'), Daghfous
Goals: 1-0 Jendrisek (47'), 2-0 Jendrisek (86'), 3-0 Hornik (90')

Certainly not the greatest result but we still manage to take back the top spot, holding it with a mere 1 point.

Duisburg and Kaiserslautern share points

The situation prior to the game promised an exciting football encounter. Kaiserslautern required at least a draw to regain the top of the table from St. Pauli and for Duisburg it was crucial to get a result if they still wanted to have a say in the promotion battle this season.

The game started with decent chances on both sides. Duisburg's Tom Starke blocked a Jendrisek header from short range (4') and Adler's volley from just outside the box was no real task for Sippel (6'). Adler's next attempt in the 13th minute was a lot more difficult for Sippel, but the Kaiserslautern keeper showed a superb save. The visitors were not as eager to play up the pitch, but often attempted to create danger coming from the wings.

Amedick had the next big chance in this game, when his header in the 31st minute narrowly missed the target. But overall the first half lacked pace and clear cut chances, which in return saw both teams enter the half time after a goalless first 45 minutes.

Jendrisek opener levelled by Baljak

The second half continued with both teams taking a cautious approach. Time and again however, the visitors created danger from set pieces. Kaiserslautern took the lead through a Jendrisek goal in the 71st minute. It was a deserved opener at this point, as Lautern clearly had the better chances.

Duisburg did not wait long to come up with an answer. Baljak slotted home the equaliser from close range, just three minutes after they had conceded the opener. Kaiserslautern attempted to take back the lead but failed to create clear cut chances in the remaining minutes. With the final score being 1-1, the visitors regained the top spot in the 2.Bundesliga, with just one point ahead of St.Pauli, who will play Kaiserslautern next Monday. Duisburg remain in 6th place with a six point gap to a promotion spot.

Massive game next week as we go head to head with St. Pauli (who we manage to defeat earlier in the season). Can't wait.

There were no distractions last night so I settled down for 90 minutes of FCK and was saddened by the performance of some of the players. There are at least 4 players in that side who are not worth paying in ticket stubs and will ruin your chances of promotion if they are allowed to continue. Good moves came to nothing with pushing, kicking and childish tantrums which gave away lots of free kicks and your two good forwards were constantly left without any final ball to attack. The defense just after a very good goal got you in front was non-existant and let them in straight away to lose 2 points. It seemed as if the coach had decided that they would be allowed to play and run arounf to get tired until the last quarter. That worked and they were not alert enough to stop you going in front. but they were supposed to go to sleep - not you. Your coach will earn his money only by being ruthless and getting rid of the rubbish he has at present - second or third team is too good for them - they will drag you down unless stopped. No names - I think you will know who I am talking about. On last night's showing it was obvious. I am still rooting for your title bid, but I hope these guys don't cause you to blow it!!

All the best for next week.

Kurz definitely need to make some changes but I don't think it's as drastic as you allude to. I think that kind of change certainly needs to takes place in the off season especially if we manage a promotion and will have to compete at the highest level as some of the players we have now just won't cut it at top flight, both in play and attitude. There's been a lot of aggressive play that has cost us this season but that same attack has resulted in positive results too.

But I get what you're saying as sometimes I want to put my foot through my computer at the utter stupidity of some of our players. Like you stated we've got a good bench (we've also got a solid youth development program) and I can't see us putting up with too much nonsense over time. What's good about our depth is we'll be able to weed out the dead weight when we (hopefully) make a sincere move in the transfer market before our return to the Bundesliga next season.

Red Devlis pull four points clear

1. FC Kaiserslautern remain at the top of the table after the top clash of Matchday 23. Marco Kurz' side celebrated a much deserved 3-0 victory over second placed FC St. Pauli.

It was an eagerly awaited match and the anticipation also showed in the attendance. Nearly 45,000 came to the Fritz-Walter-Stadion to create a Bundesliga-like atmosphere.

Fans of the Red Devils only had to wait 20 minutes to erupt in cheers for the first time. Sidney Sam, who is on a loan spell at FCK from St. Pauli's city rivals Hamburger SV, beat Bastian Oczipka on the edge of the box and put the ball past goalkeeper Matthias Hain to make it 1-0 for the table leaders.

St. Pauli, whose perfect record of 2010 came to an end when they drew FSV Frankfurt last week, struggled with Kaiserslautern's well organized defence and the hosts seemed more mature all along. It was therefore deserved when they made the game safe with 18 minutes to go. Markus Steinhöfer, who came on as a sub just seconds earlier, struck with a header after seeing his first shot bounce off the post.

Although St. Pauli came close a couple of times in the final minutes, it was the Red Devils who provided the final highlight of the evening with Srdjan Lakic heading home in the last minute.

Kaiserslautern are now four points clear at the top of the table, but St. Pauli remain in second place. The top two finishers of the 2. Bundesliga automatically get promoted.

Line-ups:
Kaiserslautern: Sippel - Dick, Amedick, Rodnei, Bugera - Ilicevic (71' Steinhöfer), Bilek, Mandjeck, Sam - Jendrisek (85' Hornig), Nemec (71' Lakic).

St. Pauli: Hain - Rothenbach, Morena, Gunesch, Oczipka - Naki (81' Sako), Lehmann - Bruns (63' Sukuta-Pasu), Takyi, Hennings (16' Kruse) - Ebbers. - Trainer: Stanislawski

Goals by:
1-0 Sam (20'), 2-0 Steinhöfer (72'), 3-0 Lakic (90')
