Brøndby IF make their debut in this season's UEFA Cup group stage with a tricky home match against a Maccabi Petach-Tikva FC side hoping to bounce back after defeat on Matchday 1.

Commanding victory
The Danish club will receive their Israeli visitors on a high after a 4-0 win against ÅGF Arhus on Sunday, which coach Michael Laudrup described as "possibly our best game so far this season". It has left Brøndby six points behind FC København in the Danish title race, but for now the focus is firmly on European matters.

Retov out
Laudrup has lost midfielder Martin Retov to a thigh injury, having already been resigned to being without defenders Thomas Rytter and Daniel Agger, along with forward Morten Skoubo. On a positive note, midfielder Stefan Scmhimdt and forward Ruben Bagger are fit again after injury.

Luzon present
As well as a delighted home crowd in Copenhagen, the win against Arhus was watched by Maccabi coach Guy Luzon. He had travelled to Denmark ahead of his players and would have been impressed by what he saw, as well as being mindful of the fact his own charges lost 2-0 on Saturday at Hapoel Nazareth FC.

Dobrovin recovering
Luzon has had injury concerns as well. While midfielder Salim Toema is expected back in training soon after a broken leg, he is some way off a return. The coach will also be without the services of Russian striker Stanislav Dobrovin, back in light training but still feeling the effects of his foot injury.

Ganon hopeful
Maccabi full-back Kobi Ganon is well aware that few may give his side a chance, not least because their Group B campaign began last month with a 2-1 home defeat by US Citta di Palermo. The defender said: "We are travelling to this match on the back of a defeat but we will do everything to collect our first points."

what the fuck? I'm not saying anything about Bundby. I'm just saying their score. It's a Danish club playing, you know. And I just told you that Rennes were eighth in their league. Nothing else.

My point is, the placed second team in your league beat 2-0 a team called Maccabi Petach-Tikva FC. Now don't tell me that they are better than Rennes? You were just being a hypocrite and I had to point it out.

And steaua beat number 5 team in France 4-0 last week in UEFA.

FCK was no. 2 in the league, and we did beat Rennes 1-0.

So? I've still not seen anyone saying the contrary. As long as you don't start a pro-Romanian crusade much like Jesper did with the Danes when he first came, then I don't mind you pointing out the Buchuresti clubs' success in Europe...

First.... Denmark is better than Romania.

Second.... Danish teams, is better than Romanian teams. And FCK could beat any Romanian team, anytime.

@Shen

Yes, thats too bad, specially because it wasn't our fault.

Please. They didn't beat Rosenborg. Defeta a team who was 7th in the second best league in Scandinavia and then we'll talk. Or are you proud that Steaua defetaed a 'B' Valerenga squad?

Jesper always stabs on how nordic clubs are better than romanian clubs, and he gives us no credit. Also I have been here for quite a while (since TF was made), so if you have not noticed a pro-Romanian crusaide already, than nothing has changed. I was just proud of the win, Rapid have never been in uefa groups before, and he goes and just puts it down. Every single time. I post about steaua winnining he has to say some $hit about how FCK are better and how the team the romanian side beat is crap. I just think it is hypocritical.. so I had to point it out.

Hmm...as far as I remember, it was you who claimed that the Romanian league wasw better than all the Scandinavian leagues.

Secondly, I never tried to do that. I just claimed that Rennes are eighth in the the league and that's what you think?

Fair enough...Haven't read all those topics so I wouldn't be able to comment. And no, I haven't noticed it that much..You've just been a bit more vociferous about it lately smile.gif Which I don't mind at all...as long as it doesn't become as tedious as the example I mentioned <_<
