I thought as we have one for the other two consoles might aswell make one for this.

Gotta say it looks good, and it will be interesting to see to be honest. Not sure how well its gonna go down though. Wont beat the Ps3 in sellings...

I honestly think it will beat PS3 in sales.

3 months earlier released, £180 on launch, it could do well. My only concern so far is that the present games aren't really looking too exciting (Only stand out ones for me atm are Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Zelda: Twilight Princess, Red Steel, Wii Sports, Battalion Wars 2 and Metroid Prim 3).

However, with the virtual console launch lineup confirmed (A couple of good games in there), and the backwards compatibility of the Gamecube, that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

The only people I can honestly see buying the PS3 are the hardcore Sony fans who want to shell out a ridiculous price for sequels.

Got mine preordered for 8th December. Can't wait. :D

Feel the same to be honest. I am begging for one for Christmas am just worried a bit about the games. Zelda will be amazing, hopefully likewise medal of honer. Fighting game wise the only one coming out at launch is a dragonball Z one which could be really good.. Nintendo need to get a more mature set of games out like there own version of Gears of War etc...

Will make my Decemeber 25th something speacil if thats under the tree.

NEVER forget the might Super Smash Brothers Brawl as a fighting game.

Those who've played or own either the N64 or Gamecube version would agree that it's one of the best fighting games available. Whereas all the others are simple 1 on 1's in an arena paced at your own time, this one is a full on 4 man brawl, and the action is constanly relentless, hardly giving you a chance to think of your next attack. Nicely is the way your energy bar is. Rather than having energy bars where the first one to lose it all is K.O'd, it runs in percentages. The higher your percentage is, the further off the stage you go. You could be at 200% (IE. a decent hit would send you flying), yet still fighting.

In addition to your medal of honor, don't forget that a Wii version of Call of Duty 3 is also coming.

Here's a link to the Virtual console lineup as well to begin with. It's not a bad start, though lacking in SNES and N64 titles.

Wii Virtual Console Launch Lineup

Another link to the two Super Smash Bros. Brawl video's (Two are the same, just ones run at a faster rate). One is taken at E3 2006, and should be viewed first, the other is taken a few days ago

Why not?? The Ps3 is fighting against the 360 which already has brought the market. The price of the Ps3 is to high to even think about..Nintendo have brought out a counter console what is so different from the others it creates a spark that people want when they are picking.. Also the Ps3 will struggle against the 360 like the Xbox did vs the Ps2. Watch one hell of a deal come out this year for the 360 at Christmas.

With a ridiculously rip off price tag and sod all decent games actually worth watching out for (Only Metal Gear Solid 4 and Gran Turismo HD, the latter already criticised for just being a better looking version of Gran Turismo 4), coupled with, in my honest opinion, a Blu Ray drive that won't work later on in the consoles life, I think it stands a chance.

Especially now that the PS3 is delayed until March in Europe, and is rumoured to have only 400,000 for launch in the states, and 100,000 in it's own country, Japan.

PS2 outsold Xbox 360.

And Sony blatently know they can bring out their console late, at a high price as they know it will sell easily.

First part in bold first. How you can even mention that is beyond stupidity. The PS2 has been out since November 2000 (In other words, for 6 years). The 360 hasn't even hit a year yet (1 year 2nd December), so it's impossible to even consider the PS2 outselling the 360 until both are put down, so to speak. Also, Sony have a habit of keeping a console alive for as long as possible and milk them big time (Which there is no problem to, in my opinion, even if it is a waste of time). I also forgot to mention that, like the 360, the PS2 had some major technical faults at its launch, maybe even worse than the 360, due to it being a rush job for the deadline, so expect the same for the PS3.

As for the other bit, it's being released in America around the same time as the Wii. However, Wii allocations are classified around the 2-4 million mark within 6 weeks of launch, whereas PS3 will have around 400,000 at launch. Oh dear. Add the fact that it's been held back till March in Europe (Due to the Blu Ray disc drive, something that I guarantee will not work properly on everyone's PS3 come the launch), which gives the Wii a 3 month head start, and the 360 a 15 month head start, it has that £350-£420 price mark, and got slated quite badly (Worst of the 3) at E3 last May, it doesn't look so rosey now. Sure, people will still buy it, but it'll mainly be either the hardcore gamer who is willing to buy the console at that price, or people who liked the PS2 so much that they'll have a PS3 regardless. I sure as hell can't see many parents buying a £400 console for their kids come xmas.

WOW.

That reminds me so much of being a kid and getting into "Console Warfare" whereby you could ONLY pick one console and by God you stuck to it come what may.

Bottom line is as such: PS3 WILL outsell it for the same reason Sony have already seen off Sega, The XBox, thus far the 360, the N64 and the Gamecube. Put simply Sony are one of THE best firms at getting merchandise OFF of shelves. Always have been. Nintendo also market kids primarily. All their major features are for preteens.

There's one overriding reason I won't get one at any point. The controllers. I don't know how they work and they scare me

I just like stupid comments like 'PS2 outsold Xbox 360' when it's quite clear.

And just to add:

Saw off Sega- I'll agree, though I was very unhappy over it. sad.gif
So far the 360- Impossible to even say until the PS3 is released
Saw off the N64- PSX had an 18 month headstart
Saw off Gamecube- Again, 18 month headstart
Saw off X-Box - See Gamecube

As it's the latest out, we shall truly see if they can win the sales war.

And to clarify to all, I had a PSX and PS2. Loved the PSX, didn't like the PS2 that much.

As I work in EB games and have to go back there soon I can clearly say the Wii is amazing, i've played it a few times and its really fun and is soo different than the others. Can tell am gonna have a bizzy day selling them and the ps3, Wii has been going like hot cakes and its the ps3 first day of the shelf here.

Been a week or so now scine both consoles have hit the market and I have to say the Wii has had a bigger impact in the Atlanta area than the playstation 3. Obivously the Ps3 is back ordered but less people want it than the Wii.. Nintendo are shipping more and more over every day so we have a few on the shelfs and people instantly buy one after trying it out....

Also it keeps you healthy as a mother to play on it for about 6 hours. One guy came in buying a game for it saying he spent 4 hours playing Zelda and lost 5 pounds...

I can't really see the draw in it myself, one of my friends seems really excited about it but the underpowered graphics put me off it. I'm not saying that everything depends on the graphics but after being shown some of the new gen games like Gears of War I can't help but think that these help to make the game that much better, and when you look at Wii its kind of hard to go back.

I'm not the biggest on buying new consoles so I'll probably only get one and that will likely be a 360, it looks like its getting alot of good games now and I always think it takes a while before consoles begin to actually get theirs so thats the PS3 out of the question, that and its stupid price which I can't think of why you'd be willing to pay that no matter how good it can be.

Don't forget that the PS3 has less to sell than the Wii in the states as well (Same with Japan, and it doesn't apply to Europe or Aussie's cos we won't get it till March).

Paddy, are you actually living in England, or did you move to the states?

As for True_Blue's question, I'll give you a full review of my Wii Sport experience when i get mine (December 8th I'll get it, and that's a definite cos I preordered it back when they were first taken, and I was reassured when i went in today to Game).

I moved to the states like 3 years ago. If it was England I would of said Electronics Boutique :P

To Auk:
The graphics are a bit better than the gamecube and nintendo have admited they did this on purpose. They wanted to release it at a cheap price and around the same time as the other consoles, they thought that the majority of people buying it don't mind about the graphics because they are good enough to put with for a long time, its not like Pong graphics but like you said it doesnt compare to Gears of War graphics..
They are trying to open a new market of gaming which they know all hardcore gamers will join them AND somthing that people can use for the first time to be introduce to gaming..

If they manage to bring more and more adult games out over time (which they will obivouisly) then I cant see why it wont be huge and as its cheaper than both the 360 AND Ps3 it will become the number one to buy..

If they all came out the same day Nintendo would rush ahead as they stocked the shelfs like no other compared to both Xbox and Sony whom were back ordered to the wahzoo
